Job summary

Due to new funding, we have a great opportunity for an HCPC registered paediatric dietitian to join our dynamic, forward thinking, friendly paediatric dietetic team (approximately 25 dietitians) at Southampton Children's Hospital as a band 7 research dietitian.

You will work alongside colleagues in the R and D team and other clinical teams within the children's hospital. You will work with inpatients, outpatients and children on the day ward.

You will have access to department CPD sessions and band 7 journal club. We offer protected CPD time and you will have regular one-to-one supervision.

This post is fulltime and fixed term for 12 months but there is the potential for it to be extended beyond this time period.

You will lead and coordinate recruitment on several distinct research projects which are funded from NIHR grants, local research network funding or commercial projects.

This post would suit someone with a good grounding in clinical paediatric dietetics and significant clinical research experience.

The paediatric team is part of the University Hospital Southampton NHSFT Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy department, (approximately 130 staff ),with clinical experts working across the range of specialties, providing both acute and community services in adults and paediatrics.

All UHS staff have access to the staff Wellbeing Hub and the free onsite staff gym. There is an efficient Park and Ride Scheme.

Our Department operates Monday to Friday 8-5pm
