Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Workforce Information Analyst at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). The role will have a primary focus on workforce business intelligence, data science, workforce planning, reporting, analysis, digital solutions and developing the workforce systems. If you have previous experience in these areas, we would love to receive your application.

The Workforce team supports the entire workforce with systems support, rostering, training, and job planning and is required to report and provide UHS trust data internally and externally. This data is vital for monitoring performance against local and national targets and providing forecasting

We need an approachable, analytical, well-organised individual with excellent communication skills who can work within a challenging, dynamic and fast-moving environment with critical deadlines. An ability to build relationships to collaboratively deliver successful solutions is essential.

Qualifications / training required

Essential

  • Educated to degree standard in a numerate discipline or has the relevant work-based experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Data Analysis, engineering, data visualisation, business intelligence and statistical modelling.
  • Knowledge and experience with PowerBI

Desirable

  • Health/biological/ social science or computing background.
  • Evidence of continuing personal and professional development with numerate skills
  • Qualification &/or proven knowledge of coding languages (SQL, VBA etc)

Previous or relevant experience necessary

Essential

  • Experience in a statistical/ analytical role
  • Experience of corporate databases and multi-user environments for reporting, being able to demonstrate the use of these databases/ software to create reports and provide information.
  • Experience of report writing and analysis reporting for digestion by senior management and operational staff. Able to adjust approach dependant on the audience
  • Experience of using data to analyse performance and recommend actions to improve
  • Experience of using analytical resources to track change over time and highlight variation.
  • Experience in investigating, communicating and analysing reporting discrepancies and progressing through to resolution..
  • Experience of applying information standards such as definitions and data sets
  • Experience of applying external policies and legislation into local practice
