Job summary
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated, dynamic, and driven Pharmacy Technician with experience in Pharmacy procurement to join our innovative Supply Services team as a Pharmacy Logistics Manager.
The Pharmacy Logisitics team is a large department consisting of approximately 35 pharmacy support workers, Pharmacy Technicians and administrative staff. The team are responsible for the safe and effective procurring, stock management and distribution of all medications across the Trust and to several external organisations. The service operates across 7 days including an extended service until 19:00 Monday to Friday

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WHAT YOULL DO
To be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient Pharmacy logistics service, ensuring that professional and legal requirements around the procurement and supply and payment of medicines are met and maintained.
Work with internal and external colleagues and suppliers to ensure that service level agreements and operational partnership arrangements are negotiated and delivered effectively to ensure best value for money for the trust.
To act as the named responsible person on the Wholesale Dealers Authority (Hospital) ensuring all processes comply with current law & EU legislation regarding Good Distribution and Good Procurement Practices.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Experience of prioritising and balancing service delivery in line with clinical need, services capacity, and resource.
Considerable experience of managing a procurement service including budgetary management
Experience of project management or service improvement.

Essential
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Management qualification equivalent to at least intermediate management level
- Chartered institute of purchasing and supply (MCIPS) qualified other equivalent procurement degree or equivalent experience to enable the post holder to work towards MCIPS
- Must meet the MHRA requirements to undertake the role of responsible person on the Wholesaler Dealers Authorisation (Hospital) (WDA(H)), which is now a requirement for the trust to hold
- Purchasing experience including knowledge of electronic ordering systems
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry
- Relevant experience in good Procurement and Distribution Practice
- Awareness of current professional regulations and issues
