Nottinghamshire Healthcare are delighted to offer an opportunity to join our Specialist Palliative Care Services.

We are advertising fixed term opportunities for a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our established team working in across Nottinghamshire. The Clinical Nurse Specialist role provides expert symptom management and psychological support to patients and those important to them. This post is offered in one of two sites depending on the interest of the successful candidate. This will be either as a Hospital role within Sherwood Forest Hospitals or in the community in our South locality.

Joining the wider specialist palliative care services from John Eastwood Hospice and Hayward House you will provide expert clinical support and advice to patients in their own home. The location of the role is subject to successful appointment however in all positions you will join a team of established and experiencednurse specialists working under the clinical leadership of Consultants in Palliative Medicine.

Main duties of the job

As a specialist in palliative care you will provide expert clinical support to patients and those important to them, predominantly in the community setting. This will include management of pain and symptom control as well as psychological support and care in the last days of life.

As an expert in your field you will also support the delivery of a portfolio of training and education to staff in all settings. This will include direct teaching and shadowing and peer support.
