Job summary

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a MHST Support Worker to join the Broxtowe Mental Health Support Team, working Monday to Wednesday with possible term time working also an option.

Our Support Workers play a vital role in partnering with schools to deliver early intervention, promote positive mental health, and support the wellbeing of children and young people.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in CAMHS, as well as those who have worked with children or young people in roles such as youth work, education, or teaching support.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential for this role. We are committed to inclusion and will make reasonable adjustments for disabled applicants in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

You will deliver team-developed workshops and assemblies to groups of young people in schools, focusing on themes of emotional health and wellbeing. The role may also involve supporting promotional activities, parent events within schools, and occasionally working outside normal hours to cover parents' evenings.

You may also be asked to contribute to the peer mentoring programmes run by the team in schools, as well as support wider projects that enhance service delivery.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies
