Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a qualified Principal Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team on a fixed-term contract of 12 months. Applications for a secondment will also be considered.
The post is based within the Mental Health Service at Rampton Hospital. It offers the opportunity to develop skills and competencies working with male service users with complex mental health difficulties who are detained in high secure care. Applicants should be keen to utilise a trauma-informed approach to make a positive difference to service user experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within a specialist multi-disciplinary team providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for a variety of presenting difficulties.
The role will be supported by senior staff experienced in providing a range of therapeutic modalities and psychological approaches for this population.
Successful applicants will contribute to the development and evaluation of specialist therapy programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and offending behaviour needs of this population.
Successful applicants will be required to provide clinical supervision and line management to junior psychology staff members.
Successful applicants will be encouraged to conduct service evaluation and research, promoting the service as a centre of excellence.
