Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care for patients in acute and locked rehabilitation settings.
  • Lead clinical care for up to 16 beds on Rowan 2, our female acute mental health ward.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
  • Supervise and appraise junior medical staff, ensuring GMC standards and compliance.
  • Participate in service planning, business development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in annual appraisal, job planning, and CPD activities.
  • Maintain professional registration, Section 12 approval, and Approved Clinician status.

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Desirable

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
