Main duties of the job
In-patient work on Rowan 2 will be for 7.5 PA's. The in-patient wards based at Highbury hospital, admit patients from all over the county of Nottinghamshire. Each ward has 16 beds. The post holder will manage up to 16 beds on Rowan 2 (female ward). The ward cover will be with their consultant colleagues and a multi-professional approved clinician.

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based senior medical care to patients in acute care and locked rehabilitation settings.
- Lead clinical care for up to 16 beds on Rowan 2, our female acute mental health ward at Highbury Hospital.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred care.
- Foster collaborative therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
- Manage, appraise, and provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff, ensuring compliance with GMC standards and the Working Time Directive.
- Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and accurately record clinical activity.
- Participate in service and business planning for the locality and wider mental health services.
- Engage in annual appraisal and job planning, including CPD activities and Trust academic programmes.
- Maintain professional registration, Section 12 approval, and Approved Clinician status.
- Contribute to the efficient running of services and support the Medical Director in financial and operational planning
