Job summary

The Community CAMHS West Team covers Mansfield, Ashfield and Hucknall with two bases at Lindsay Close (Mansfield) and Ashfield Health and Wellbeing Centre (Kirkby-in-Ashfield). The post holder will be responsible for leading, monitoring and evaluating the clinical practice of the team driving towards clinical excellence. They will provide and oversee clinical supervision within the team and support the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient centred care.

Working in effective collaboration with the Community CAMHS Operational Team Lead and Senior CAMHS leadership team, the post holder will be responsible for promoting and developing clinical excellence within the Community CAMHS team to enhance the mental and emotional well-being of children and young people within Nottinghamshire through sound evidence-based approaches.

Main duties of the job

o To maintain clinical expertise in practice through managing a small caseload and undertake and gain required skills and knowledge to facilitate on-going development of the post.

o To offer and support induction, preceptorship, coaching and mentorship to clinical staff to enhance clinical assessment, formulation and care planning to promote a learning culture, enabling others to develop their full potential.

o To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of clinical research findings and make proposals for changes to clinical practice considering these

o To offer clinical supervision and consultation to clinical staff within Community CAMHS teams, and the staff working in the Single Point of Access (SPA), and the wider CAMHS Service across the county where necessary

o To consult on, develop and review operating procedures for use within the Community CAMHS teams

o To ensure child and adult safeguarding procedures are followed

o Use analytical thinking, decision-making, leadership and other specialist skills to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
