We are delighted to offer the opportunity for two Band 8a Clinical Psychologist posts based in the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service. We are willing to consider newly qualified Clinical Psychologists with relevant experienced Band 7 who can be offered a preceptorship to achieve an 8a banding over their first year post qualification
We have two EIP teams based within the City of Nottingham and in the County of Nottinghamshire, which have a range of mental health professionals working within them and support people who either present with an at risk mental health state that could lead to psychosis or are actively experiencing a first episode psychosis. There may in addition be other mental health problems that may be experienced alongside the psychosis, including complex trauma, depression, anxiety, dissociation, self-harm and life-threatening behaviours. The successful applicants will work within team based posts where they will be supported by other experienced Psychologists already working in the Adult Mental Health Community Services and will be responsible for the provision of psychological interventions with patients who are under the care of the Early Intervention in Psychosis Teams.
Main duties of the job
We see the role of psychologists working in Adult Mental Health services as:
To enhance the psychological mindedness of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and Adult Mental Health Service as well as improve the psychological competence and confidence of non-psychologists within the MDT to deliver psychological interventions
Together with individual work with service user's, we encourage and support non-direct work with staff within the EIP Team (supervision, training) together with initiatives which enhance the psychological mindedness of the wider directorate (e.g., articles, wider training). As such we believe the role is ideally suited to someone who wants to work within an MDT setting and apply and develop their skills and interests across a broad and varied range of activities.
Working within the EIP Teams, you will be a senior member of staff and as such we will encourage and support opportunities in the development of leadership skills. We value an individual's areas of interest, research and development and there will be opportunity for the successful applicants to be involved in service developments and audit projects.
