Job summary

This role requires an individual with experience in the management and Leadership of people and services. The post holder will provide strong leadership and direction to the multi-disciplinary teams and professionals to ensure clear strategic way forward within the directorate. You will be required to have flexibility and adaptability to support the management of a multi professional resource, across a range of complex and diverse services, to ensure all aspects of physical and mental healthcare needs are met. Deputises for the Operational Manager as required and work closely with Team Managers and other professional leads in the community forensic services. You will assist in developing and implementing a detailed strategy for recruitment, retention, supervision, development and deployment within the care unit. Actively contribute to implementing the strategies for complaints, clinical governance, recruitment, professional development, security, health and safety, performance and quality, infection control, essence of care, safeguarding, user involvement and physical health care within the Care unit. A commitment to promote compassionate care and excellent clinical practice supporting service users to be the best they can be, recovery from illness, reduce their risk and move through their care pathway. To work as part of an MDT to ensure each service works in collaboration to ensure safe and effective practices are maintained.

Main duties of the job

To provide management and clinical leadership to the community services and to work with the wider Management Group within the Care Unit and Forensic Care Group.

Responsible and accountable for supporting the Operational Manager in the delivery of key performance indicators and for the delivery of agreed programmes of development and improvement, ensuring the objectives and targets are achieved as determined by National, Trust, Divisional and Social Care standards.

Contribute to the development of high standards of practice within the Clinical Service to ensure compassionate and effective care is provided to the service users across the care unit.

They will be expected to monitor performance, liaise and communicate with service users and carers and relevant partners and stakeholders to support service development and improvements and operational standards.

Support and deputise for the Operational Manager in all aspects of professional leadership and service and change management within the service.
