Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, experienced teachers to join our team in the Therapy Services Department. This team includes Occupational Therapists, support workers, sports & fitness staff and peer support workers. Together we provide a comprehensive range of interventions to meet the therapeutic needs of the adult patient group and promote recovery and well-being.

We are looking for teachers to provide classes in Maths, English, and ICT across the three care pathways at Arnold Lodge.

Each subject requires one day a week of teaching (approximately 7 hours).

You will liaise with staff within therapy services and the ward to determine effective methods of delivery for small groups of patients and individuals.

You will need to be flexible, organised and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Main duties of the job

To teach basic and higher level skills (Level 2) in numeracy, literacy and ICT.

To teach functional skills in maths and English.

To prepare students for examinations in the core subjects as outlined above.

To teach English Language learners

To teach patients with additional learning needs such as ADHD and dyslexia.

To conduct assessments - initial, diagnostic, formative and summative.

To prepare Individual Learning plans, lesson plans and schemes of work as required.

  • Nationally recognised teaching qualification at either Level 4 (CTLLS, CET, Cert Ed) or Level 5 (DTLLS, DET) or equivalent.
  • Relevant qualification for subject or subjects you will be teaching. For example:- ICDL (Essentials) qualification or equivalent. ICDL Advanced or equivalent ESOL qualification
