An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP) of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust for a passionate and highly motivated ACP (Band 8a) with Non-medical prescribing qualification.

The EIP service in Nottinghamshire is delivered through a multidisciplinary team of practitioners who provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments for people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis (FEP) for the development of psychosis.

The EIP team is a community-based service which operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for applicants with a keen interest in working with the client groups served by EIP and a desire to effectively support their families, to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive teamA good understanding of the principles, ethos, assessments and interventions associated with working within an Early Intervention in Psychosis team will be key. The successful applicant will provide regular clinics and diagnostic support alongside our medical colleagues to ensure our patients receive a high standard of care within a timely manner as per the EIP pathway and framework.

The successful applicant will spend their time supporting EIP patients and colleagues with clinics or home visits where needed around the five different bases to ensure timely access for reviews

We provide additional training and support where needed to contribute to the successful delivery of a high quality NICE concordant service.

The post holder is an experienced Nurse/Allied Health Professional/Paramedic, qualified to ACP Masters level who will act as a clinical leader. They will:

Demonstrate safe , senior clinical decision-making by autonomously assessing patients referred to the service.Demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision making process and work collaboratively with the MDT to meet the needs of patients.Be instrumental in guiding junior medical staff and nursing staff in relation to relevant protocols, procedures and clinical pathways.Be fundamental in the development of the role.Initiate, manage and drive innovative change in practice for the benefit of patient care in line with Trust and local procedures.

The role will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will work within a defined scope of practice and to agreed clinical standards applied within the service.

The role will be multi factorial including clinical assessment, formulation, non-medical prescribing and developing holistic non-pharmacological treatments.

The ACP may provide mentorship to trainee ACP's within the directorate.
