Job summary

An opportunity has arisen in the Patients' Education Team for an Affiliate Lecturer. We are looking for an excellent communicator and teacher to fulfil this role. The post holder will be expected to plan and deliver educational sessions to patients, focusing on raising literacy and numeracy standards within our patient population. We deliver education in a unique setting that can be challenging and rewarding. If you believe you have the necessary skills and experience then why not apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will hold a Level 4 in Teaching & Learning (CET or equivalent) A PGCE or QTS is desirable but not essential to this role. You will need experience of planning and delivering lessons to learners.

You will be teaching people with a variety of complex learning needs, experience of SEND and appropriate learning strategies are a must.

The post holder will maintain a caseload of learners with responsibility for reporting on progress and engagement, excellent written communication is a must..

You will help escort patients to and from sessions and you will be expected to engage with PVMA training on a annual basis, so your personal physical fitness is important.

This post also supports the Band 5 & 6 Lecturers in a classroom environment.
