Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Registration Authority Agent

The closing date is 03 July 2025

Job summary

The Registration Authority (RA) plays a vital role in delivering Identity & Access Management across NHS Spine applications and NHS Spine-enabled Electronic Patient Records (EPR), as well as key components of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). Our work is essential in managing user identities and ensuring secure access to both trust and national resources, alongside the ongoing maintenance and configuration of NHS Spine applications.

We are seeking two team-oriented individuals with a strong desire to learn to join our friendly and supportive service. You will be part of a small dynamic team, initially in a temporary capacity, contributing to the delivery of the trust's Digi-Care programme. In this pivotal role, you will be a part of the team that Spine enables the RiO EPR, provisioning Care Identities, implementing Position Based Access Control (PBAC), and providing ongoing user support across the trust's geography.

This post is offered on a hybrid working basis subject to service requirements and in line with the organisation's flexible working arrangements. If you are eager to develop your skills in a collaborative environment and make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery, we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

User Onboarding: Onboard new users to Care Identities through multiple pathways, including digital and in-person identity verification. Delivering scheduled & ad-hoc appointments, walk-in clinics, and supporting on-site project sessions for RiO Spine enablement.

Access Management: Assignment, modification and revocation of user access across various applications, ensuring only those with a legitimate relationship are provided access to local and national information.

Authentication Management: Issuance along with provision of technical support for authenticators such as Smartcards and Windows Hello.

User Support: Provide first and second line support to approximately 5,500 established users across all team related matters, in-person, over the phone, and electronically whilst balancing the demands of the RiO Spine enablement programme.

Audit Assistance: Assist with auditory requirements related to user identities, access permissions, authentication, and application usage to uphold trust and compliance standards, including the Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT).

The ideal candidate will be highly computer literate, exceptionally organised, and a strong team player. Previous exposure to RA processes or NHS applications will be advantageous.

Effective communication skills are essential, enabling you to engage clearly and confidently with colleagues at all levels. A desire to learn and adapt to new concepts will be as equally as important.
