Job summary
Applications are welcome for a part time Consultant Psychiatrist (8PAs) on a permanent contract, working within the Adult Mental Health Care Unit.

An Advisory Appointment Committee (AAC) will be required for this post.
A Golden Hello of 20% of the minimum point of the National Consultant (2003) contract will be paid for this post.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first two months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Main duties of the job
This is Ashfield LMHT post delivering out-patient care to people in community with mental health issues. This will involve 6 PAs of their clinical time. The post holder responsibilities will include the care of patient's mental health illnesses that cannot be managed by primary care.
This post will primarily provide consultant support to the Ashfield LMHT patients usually presenting with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, personality disorders and psychosis. It will be for 6 PAs and will involve a case load of about 100-110 patients. There are no CTO patients. They will have senior medical responsibility for the care of the patients and be working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care. They will be required to undertake their duties under the MHA as Responsible Clinician for those patients under CTO.
