The Mental Health Division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust comprises of three directorates; Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RMN post within the care unit of Older People Mental Health Services . Kingfisher Ward is based within the site of Blossomwood, Sutton in Ashfield. Kingfisher Ward is a 18 bedded, mixed gender ward which provides dementia related assessment and individualised recovery focused care packages to older adult service users.
You must hold a current NMC registration and have advanced experience of working with people with complex Mental Health problems; preferably within an inpatient setting. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual holding a strong interest in developing both personally and professionally. You will have access to comprehensive clinical and managerial supervision and annual personal appraisal development.
The post is full time and features combinations of shift patterns including early, late and night shifts.

The main responsibilities of the job are:
- To assess, plan, implement, promote and evaluate safe, creative andeffective treatment plans in collaboration with the patients diverse needs, their carers and other professionals.
- Interventions will be evidence based and designed to reduce stress and anxiety, manage risk and aid recovery.
- To maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records both written and computerised. To maintain the safe custody of healthcare records.
- Responsible for the safe monitoring, management and administration of medication as required by Trust policy.
- To be aware of and apply the principles of Infection Prevention and Control and to comply with policy, procedure and guidance.
- To obtain and interpret physical Healthcare observations
- Demonstrate and be responsible for the safe application of relevant, up-to-date legislation including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty, safeguarding etc.
You must be a RMN or equivalent and registered with the NMC. You must be able to work flexible hours on a 24hr rota including weekends and bank holidays.
Applicants must have some experience of working within the mental health setting, be flexible, hardworking and compassionate with a desire to work in a fast pace environment.
You will have access to training and development, annual appraisals and clinical supervision.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
