Main duties of the job
Our integrated teams of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals deliver care to people who present with significant physical health care needs in various settings including clinic based, community inpatient, hospices to care in the patient's own home, including care homes, enabling them to be independent, self-caring and live their optimum lives, reducing hospital admissions.
Services range from community nursing, including specialist practitioners, to public health and health promotion such as school nursing and health visiting, with many specialist community services designed to support care pathways such as Physiotherapy, OT, Speech and Language, Dietetics and Podiatry.
Supporting the efficient running of these services are administrative and managerial roles. All roles, at all levels, are vital in transforming community health services, ensuring high quality care is provided both now and into the future based around the needs of our patients - together we all make a difference.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthy Child Assistant. The post is with the Ashfield Healthy Families Team to deliver universal health reviews and breast feeding support and other duties as part of the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme. The post is full time (37.5hrs per week).
Proven experience of working with children and families in some capacity is essential as a major part of this role will involve lone working with parents and their children when completing development reviews.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act on your own initiative but to be able to escalate any issues to the Specialist Public Health Practitioners who lead and manage the Healthy Families Team on a day to day basis.
You will need to be flexible to meet the service needs of the children and their families, have good time management and IT skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.
Ashfield Healthy Family Team work closely with Partners to deliver high quality services to Children and Young people.
In return we offer an excellent induction with abundant training and ongoing professional development, regular clinical and safeguarding supervision and an opportunity to contribute to the teams development.
Successful candidates should also be aware of Safeguarding policies and procedures.
