Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Assistant Psychologist post within the Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) within the Mental Health Services for Older People directorate for Nottinghamshire Healthcare.

This post will be spread between 2 CMHTs - 0.5 WTE in Rushcliffe CMHT based at Lings Bar Hospital, Beckside, Gamston, NG2 6PR and 0.5 WTE in Mansfield & Ashfield CMHT at Heather House, 72 Portland Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 7AG.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to various locations throughout Rushcliffe and Mansfield & Ashfield to complete assessments.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010

Main duties of the job

To support and carry out assessment, formulation, and intervention for MHSOP patients and their carers, under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. The post will be working with mental health difficulties and/or neurodegenerative illnesses, supporting with assessment of cognitive functioning where suitable. The post holder might also assist in the teaching and training of staff, and in service evaluation projects, where appropriate.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
