Job summary

Our catering department at Rampton Hospital is on a journey to reshape and enhance how we deliver modern, nutritious food that improves patient care and staff wellbeing. We're looking for a highly experienced, inspirational Catering Manager to help us achieve this!

Main duties of the job

We're proud to be an in-house service made up of innovative and inspirational catering professionals who work together to overcome complex challenges and deliver the best for our patients and staff. Your role will be to help us introduce new, improved technologies that can help transform our catering services and achieve efficiencies.As well as experience in large scale catering production, you'll also need to demonstrate strategic thinking and effective operational management, including budgetary control, strong problem- solving skills and the ability to manage information and data effectively to influence decision making. With responsibility for up to 39 staff exceptional communication skills and with solid experience of managing other people are a must.

Qualifications

Essential

  • City & Guilds 706/2 or equivalent
  • Basic Literacy & Numeracy
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene (Level 3)

Desirable

  • HCIMA/BTEC National Diploma
  • Advanced Food Hygiene (Level 4)

Training

Desirable

  • Competent in operating catering equipment and machinery

Experience

Essential

  • Experience supervising in a catering environment, preferably in an NHS setting

Desirable

  • Management of a large operational Catering Team in an NHS Setting.
  • Experience of menu planning

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of an operational catering environment at supervisory level including HACCP procedures, Risk and Budgetary Management.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of current Catering associated legislation.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Food Production/Service procedures and stock control systems
  • Knowledge of cleaning and catering practices and associated legislation
  • Knowledge of NHS key standards for Catering.
  • Knowledge of a high Secure setting & patient / client issues
