Job summary

At The Wells Road Centre we are looking for dynamic and experienced Healthcare Assistants with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service. Applicants should have experience of working in Mental Health, a good understanding of risk and be keen to join a strong and committed team. You would be expected to have knowledge of mental health and be able to identify your own skills and how these may compliment the existing teams over the five wards.

The Wells Road Centre is a low secure forensic hospital working in collaboration with patients with a forensic history to work towards recovery.

You would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients experiencing a mental health diagnosis , working in a recovery-orientated and holistic manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.

You will be expected to participate in any future training identified in order to fulfil the role of the Healthcare Assistant. You will be given opportunities for training and development in different areas of the HCA role and any aspects of your particular interest. You will receive monthly clinical and managerial supervision and will also have a yearly appraisal that focuses on your development.

Candidates will be expected to work a full range of shifts including day and night shifts across 7 days per week.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role involve working under instruction of the qualified nurse. The work will include working alongside the MDT to deliver high quality care in accordance with the patient care plans.

Monitoring and assessing patients risk and completing patient observations.

completing security checks and audits.
