Job summary

IDD SPA are looking for a part time Band 6 qualified clinician to join our busy SPA team in a substantive position.

The position is a hybrid role with an office base at Fern House, Highbury Hospital but with some home working available.

Our team is operational Monday - Friday 09.00am - 17.00pm, 52 weeks per year and the successful applicant will be required to work three days per week - Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Main duties of the job

The IDD SPA Team sits as the initial point of access for referrers to Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust's IDD community services and post holders will work autonomously as part of a team to review, prioritise, triage, screen and offer assessments as required for all referrals received that request support from IDD community services.

Post holders will attend, contribute to and lead daily referral meetings wherein work is equitably distributed for completion. The role includes answering and making calls via telephone to referrers, family, carers and service users in order to source information that may be required as part of the triage assessment process.

Post holders will be integral offering input into clinical team discussions with both SPA and wider MDT colleagues when considering the outcomes of completed assessments or referral triage, to ensure appropriate referral allocations are made to the wider community IDD teams.

You will be provided with appropriate equipment to complete your role and this will be maintained as per Trust policy.

You will provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and students.

IDD SPA is an evolving team and post holders will be encouraged to engage in the promotion and development of the Team including audits, data collection and pathway developments.

You will be able to access training and be encouraged to develop your skills and promote safe service delivery.

  • Recognised qualification in one of the following professions e.g., Learning disability nursing, social work, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy
  • oRegistration with relevant professional body

Desirable

  • oQualification in therapeutic approaches with intellectual disabilities and families

  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
