General Manager - Urgent Care Directorate CHS

Fixed term/Secondment until the end of the financial year

The Urgent Care and Therapy Care Unit within the Community Health Care Group are seeking a tenacious and inspirational General Manager to lead community beds as part of the urgent care portfolio in north / mid and south Nottinghamshire.

This portfolio oversees a range of bed provision including general and specialist palliative care, and re-ablement, rehabilitation, recovery and assessment beds as part of Pathway 2 in the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire D2A footprint.

As the General Manager, you will be a compassionate and driven leader, within your portfolio you will oversee finance, workforce, quality, performance and the operational management of teams.

Main duties of the job

You will be a compassionate, driven and resourceful leader who will have demonstrable leadership skills, as well as proven experience in delivering and overseeing the performance and operational management of clinical services (but you do not need to be a clinician). The candidate must have a sound understanding of key NHS policy, clinical commissioning arrangements, targets and the local system.

Candidates will demonstrate a history of delivering high quality patient services and patient experience in a challenging environment with success of healthcare target delivery and have experience in managing performance issues. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required, along with proven problem-solving and influencing skills and the ability to manage/resolve conflict.

Successful candidates will further be able to meet deadlines, work independently and as a member of a team and motivate self and others.

Candidates will need to demonstrate ability to build effective, collaborative working relationships with system partners and colleagues in order to facilitate service transformation and respond to system pressures.

The role expects visible leadership across the services with attendance at trust wide and divisional meetings expected. Base can be determined upon interview as candidates will be expected to work across sites, we also support a balanced and flexible approach to include office and home base.
