Are you a highly capable and dynamic dietitian with experience of working with children, young people, or adults with mental health, learning disability or autism and a desire to support staff and innovate practice? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Professional Lead Dietitian to join Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This post sits within our Mental Health group and supports a small number of specialist dietitians working in Community and Inpatient Multi Disciplinary Teams within Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Intellectual Disabilities.
Given the importance of growing and developing the dietetic workforce there will be some focus on supporting student and B5 development opportunities across mental health and forensics. Capitalising on the post holder's expertise a consultative approach for services where there is currently no other dietetic access may be required at times.
You will be reporting directly to the Senior AHP executive team with a close working relationship with the Consultant in nutrition and hydration and Head of dietetics in the Community care group.
The Trust employs Dietitians across Nottinghamshire in Mental Health Services, Community Health Services, Food Services and Forensic Services.
The successful candidate will possess adept leadership skills and demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to collaborate and develop the profession.
Main duties of the job
The Professional Lead Dietitian will support the clinical practice and development of the Dietetic Workforce in Mental Health Services.
The post holder will provide governance, advice, support and consultancy to senior managers/leaders and Associate Directors for AHPs to ensure safe and effective evidence-based dietetic delivery and practice with Mental Health Services and with other leads into other other areas of the Trust where required.
Working in collaboration with service managers this role contributes to the oversight of profession and strategic planning of resources as appropriate to promote recruitment, retention, and continuity of dietetic services.
In addition to working with Mental Health Service Managers the post holder will work closely with the Head of Dietetics within the community services care group and the Consultant in Nutrition and Hydration to innovate, harmonise and raise the profile of the dietetic profession across the Trust.
