This team is jointly commissioned by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire NHS Trust and works specifically with children and young people who are in the care of a Local Authority and living with foster carers or in residential care.
This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust. This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period. This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust. This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
The team offer specialist assessment and interventions which include network consultation, therapeutic groups, and individual or dyadic therapeutic work with children and their carers.
Working alongside Specialist Social Workers, a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Clinical Psychologist and an Art Therapist, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, with robust supervisory support and access to specialist training.
Your role will include:
- Assessing mental health needs, including in children and young people in crisis
- Formulation, developing and coordinating plans of care
- Providing individual, dyadic and group treatment
- Promoting placement stability
- Training and psychoeducation
- Supporting networks with assessing risk and safety planning
