Main duties of the job
This opportunity is open to graduate psychologists holding a degree in Psychology. This qualification will fill an identified skills gap between assistant psychologists and qualified clinical psychologists.
CAP apprentices will be working alongside qualified Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists as part of the psychological services contribution to the multidisciplinary community teams across Nottinghamshire. Clinical bases for this programme will be discussed at interview. This new role will make a positive impact on enhancing the current workforce provision serving the mental health needs of the nation. The CAPs are a flexible workforce, competent in the planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based psychological interventions.
We are looking to recruit 3 CAPs to work within Adult Mental Health Services working into Inpatient Acute and Psychological Therapies settings.
The Clinical Associate in Psychology role is a new psychology career pathway in its own right. CAPs on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme will continue within the Adult Mental Health services as a band 6 (indicative banding) Clinical Associate Psychologist.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have a commitment to working in the local region, from those with diverse backgrounds and from people who bring lived experience relevant to mental health work.
