Job summary
Our Mental Health Staff Nurses work within a multi-professional team on an acute hospital ward contributing to the management and discharge planning for patients with complex physical and organic mental health problems who can experience high levels of distress.
We are looking for a positive, proactive nurse who wants to develop their knowledge, skills and experience as well as develop leadership skills in planning and managing patient care.
These posts are subject to National NHS T&Cs, paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during nights, weekends and bank holidays and we offer a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 to new starters with the Trust in this role (payable in instalments over a 2 year period)
Main duties of the job
Ward B47 is a 28 bed acute medical ward based at Queen's Medical Centre that specialises in positive risk taking in order to improve hospital outcomes for people living with dementia. Working along side families, Allied Health Professionals and a medical team you will join a committed team of highly skilled staff that provide high level, patient focused holistic care. As well as developing skills, knowledge and experience in dementia care you will also encounter a wide range of physical health conditions and multiple pathologies and how to effectively care for these.
In addition, you will also be a positive role model to the staff on the ward and to support Student Nurses and Trainee Nurse Associates in order to develop our future workforce .
