Job summary
This apprenticeship prepares an individual for supervising a facilities management service, or a group of services, which can be labelled as 'hard' (estate/building management) or soft (catering/cleaning/administration/security).
All apprentices will be required to understand the contractual requirements and service delivery targets between their employing organisation and the client/customer in order to achieve service targets. The apprentice will have to provide customer service skills and be proactive in finding solutions to problems.
Main duties of the job
- The post-holder will become fully conversant and competent in providing Estates and Facilities Services support within a relevant Estates and Facilities Services role in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
- This level 3 apprenticeship prepares an individual for managing a Facilities Management (FM) service, or a group of services, which can be labelled as 'Hard' (estate/building management) or Soft (catering/cleaning/administration/security).
- Training will involve working alongside Estates and Facilities staff within the different areas of the department, working under supervision.

- Complete the practical and academic requirements for a qualification in Facilities Management Level 3.
- Ensure the delivery of an excellent and responsive customer service.
- Assist with the day-to-day management and auditing of contractors and service providers
- Assist with the procurement of supplies in accordance with financial regulations and ensuring best value objectives are achieved at all times
- Assist the administration required within the department
- To contribute to the Estates and Facilities department work.
- To gain an understanding of how the Department functions by providing support as required whilst gaining knowledge and experience and by undertaking training in the following:
- NVQ level 3 Facilities Management
- Technical Certificate
- Level 2 Maths and English (if not held on entry) completed prior to completion of apprenticeship.
- Follow all policies/procedures and guidance related to the designated role
Other duties requested by the Trust in line with the grading of this post.

- Able to work at height, in restricted areas or unpleasant conditions, such as sewage, waste, pests.
- Able to sit in a restricted position (desk) for a proportion of the working time
