An exciting new opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to develop and lead the psychology input to a new NHS England funded service in Diabetes Transition and Young Adult Care at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. (Part time - 30 hours per week)
You will be warmly welcomed by the Psychology and Diabetes Teams and well-supported to develop into the role. The post will involve working in an integrated diabetes transition and young adult care MDT, to develop psychological pathways and provide specialist psychological assessment, intervention and psychoeducation with outpatients and inpatients. As a valued member of the MDT, you will provide consultation, advice, training and supervision to staff on patients' psychological wellbeing. You will also work closely with the senior leadership team in enhancing psychological understanding to support the wider system.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be Lead Clinical Psychologist in the Diabetes Transition and Young Adult Care at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post-holder will be responsible for the development and delivery of a high quality, responsive and accessible Clinical Psychology service for young people with diabetes. This includes providing specialist psychological assessment and a therapeutic service to individuals struggling to manage their condition and/or experiencing significant emotional difficulties due to living with diabetes. The post-holder will work across both paediatric and adult teams to support the smooth transition of young people into adult diabetes services. The post-holder will also support the diabetes TYA specialist team through offering advice, consultation, training and supervision regarding the psychological management of diabetes in young adults. The post-holder will develop psychological pathways, working closely with wider service providers. The service will be run in line with relevant national guidelines and the post-holder will be encouraged to join national networks of psychologists working in diabetes to enhance support and ensure best practice.
You must be a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and have experience of working with people with chronic physical health conditions. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with a range of professionals, patients and families.
