Are you passionate about helping to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors? We're looking for a Facilities Service Assistant to join our dedicated team within our Community Hospital.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting patient care by ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and hospitality across our wards, clinics and catering areas.
Main duties of the job
As a Facilities Service Assistant, you will work closely with the Facilities Team Leader, Facilities Housekeeper, Catering team, Matron and wider ward teams to deliver a range of essential services. Every day will be different, and you will be involved in:
Cleaning & Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, safe environment across wards, patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, kitchens and public areas.
- Follow National Cleaning Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and infection control guidelines.
- Support environmental audits and maintain accurate cleaning records.
Portering
- Safely transport patients, equipment, meals, linen, waste and medical records across hospital areas.
- Assist with delivery and collection of linen, waste disposal and replenishment of supplies.
Catering Support
- Assist with preparation, regeneration and serving of patient meals in line with Food Safety legislation.
- Manage food storage, stock rotation and temperature checks.
- Support delivery of snacks, beverages and pantry services.
