You don't need experience in clinical coding, but we are looking for someone who:

Please note, you will be asked to sit a 30 minute pre-interview assessment consisting of basic anatomy & physiology and clinical terminology, effectively testing your aptitude to perform the role of a Clinical Coder.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Coder, you'll work as a member of a team to provide an efficient clinical coding service working to established systems and procedures. You'll join a friendly and supportive team to accurately translate patient records into coded data using ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 classifications.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reading and interpreting clinical documentation from patient records
  • Applying accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4.10 codes in line with national standards and local policies
  • Working with clinicians and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality data
  • Participating in coding audits and feedback sessions
  • Contributing to a culture of learning, accuracy and consistency

This data plays a crucial role in patient care planning, research, audit and funding.

  • Human biology O level, A Level, GCSE or other relevant qualifications or work based experience
