Endoscopy Decontamination Lead

Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to support the safe and effective decontamination of flexible endoscopes across our Endoscopy services. You will be responsible for ensuring all decontamination processes are carried out in line with Trust policies and national standards, providing leadership, guidance and support to colleagues within the unit.
A sound understanding of JAG (Joint Advisory Group) decontamination requirements is essential, as you will play a key role in maintaining compliance and supporting highquality, safe patient care.
This role requires flexibility, with duties carried out across Musgrove Park Hospital and Bridgwater Community Hospital. Please note the position involves routine exposure to blood and body fluids.
Main duties of the job
*To provide day to day operational management of the service delivery under the guidance of the Decontamination Manager.
*To be technically responsible for the decontamination department through liaison with the Manager and manage all flexible endoscopes.
*Apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge when reviewing complex facts, interpreting technical data which require the analysis and comparison of a wide range of options for the production and dissemination of flexible endoscopes.
*To manage, develop and review Standard Operating Procedures for the department including new equipment/ processes.
