Job summary

Are you a qualified or newly qualified nurse looking to develop your career in acute care? We have an exciting opportunity to join the Dunkery Neuro Stroke Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, where you will deliver highquality, evidencebased nursing care to patients recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions.

As part of our supportive multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver individualised care, complete neurological assessments, and contribute to safe discharge planning. You'll gain experience in a wide range of acute skills, with access to strong senior support and a comprehensive CPD programme to help you grow and develop.

We're looking for nurses with good communication skills, a teamfocused approach, and a passion for providing safe, compassionate care. We welcome both newly qualified and experienced applicants.

This role is open to registered or soon to qualify nurses.

Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
