We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new Outpatient Pharmacy at Musgrove Park Hospital and are looking for a qualified Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-focused pharmacy services.

This is a rare chance to be part of a brand-new service from day one: shaping processes, contributing ideas and helping build a truly outstanding patient experience.

The brand-new Outpatient Pharmacy will be opened Monday - Friday 9AM till 6PM, not open on the weekends!

The Role

As a key member of our new Outpatient Pharmacy team, you will:

  • Deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centred pharmaceutical care
  • Ensure the smooth running of dispensary operations
  • Help & support to shape the culture and standards of a brand-new service
  • Work collaboratively with a friendly and supportive team

Hours: Full-time (40 or 42.5 hours per week)

Part-time: Considered for the right candidate

Main duties of the job

Main Duties

  • Manage day-to-day workflow in the outpatient pharmacy.
  • Complete final accuracy checks on prescriptions, ensuring legal and safety compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor workload to ensure safe levels.
  • Line manage pharmacy dispensers and trainees, including rotas, appraisals, and wellbeing.
  • Support training and induction of new staff.
  • Adhere to GPhC standards and maintain ACPT accreditation.
  • Monitor and report near misses and incidents, providing support and training where necessary.
  • Manage stock rotation, ordering, and controlled drug records..
  • Ensure shop floor stock complies with legal requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Role Overview
