Endoscopy Decontamination Technician

Job summary
To train in the full duties of a decontamination technician in this specialist area responsible for all flexible endoscopes, in accordance with the Trust and National decontamination policies. To work flexibly at MPH and Bridgwater Community Hospital. The role involves exposure to blood and body fluids.
Main duties of the job
* Meet the demands of the department's workload whilst consistently achieving high
quality standards which will be measured by in-process checks and nonconformance reports.
* To use manual dexterity and concentration for the disassembly and reassembly of
the reusable medical devices in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
* To operate decontamination equipment and carry out routine tests in accordance
with the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, Quality Standards and
Guidance.
* To undertake duties as required, consistent with the responsibility of the grade and
needs of the service.
* To refer appropriate issues and raise uncertainties with senior staff.
* To attend all statutory and mandatory training and Induction as defined by the
organisation and service needs and other courses considered appropriate.
