We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Geriatrician to join our innovative and expanding Care of Older People (COOP) team at Yeovil District Hospital. This is a fixed time post within a dynamic, forward-thinking department that values individuality and supports professional growth. You will provide specialist inpatient and outpatient care for older patients, contribute to acute and frailty services including Front Door Frailty, and help shape services such as Ortho-Geriatrics, Osteoporosis, Parkinson's and Movement Disorders, Dementia and Delirium. We actively encourage you to develop your sub-specialty interests and offer job-sharing and flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle. Alongside clinical work, you will engage in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and teaching, and play a key role in mentoring and supervising junior doctors and multidisciplinary teams, with additional SPA time for educational supervision. Main duties of the job
Provide specialist Geriatric medical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Contribute to 7-day working and the acute/frailty take.
Deliver comprehensive care across services such as Front Door Frailty, Ortho-Geriatrics, Parkinson's clinics, and Dementia/Delirium services.
Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, audit, and teaching.
Supervise and mentor junior doctors and multidisciplinary teams.
Participate in job planning, appraisal, mandatory training, and service development.
