Job summary

At Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, we are dedicated to providing outstanding care and support to patients and the people who matter to them. An exciting opportunity has become available for someone to join our dynamic team as a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) Advisor.

Our role as a team is to ensure that the patient and carer voice is at the centre of all we do as an organisation. In this role, you will gain experience as a key part of the Patient Experience and Engagement Team dedicated to ensuring patient experience informs the care provided by the Trust.

Main duties of the job

As a PALS Advisor, you will be integral to the Patient Advice and Liaison process within the Trust, ensuring compassionate engagement with our patients and the people who matter to them. You will also ensure that all enquiries are handled efficiently, compassionately, and in accordance with NHS guidelines.

Your role will involve managing the entire lifecycle of PALS enquiries, from initial receipt through to resolution, working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure a timely and satisfactory outcome.

You'll work closely with the PALS Manager to make a significant contribution in developing the patient experience function to support service groups in the delivery of the Patient Experience and Involvement Strategy.

If you are passionate about making a difference in patient care, we would love to hear from you.
