Are you an experienced Dietitian looking for a Band 6 post to develop your skills in specialist clinical care as well as in supervision/leadership and service improvement?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to specialise in Oncology.
You will be working as part of the Oncology Dietetic Team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust providing specialist nutritional care to patients receiving a multimodality range of cancer treatments. We provide a dietetic service across both acute and community settings. You will receive support from the Band 7 Macmillan Oncology Team Lead Dietitian. You will also work closely with the Oncology Consultants, Specialist Nurses and other Oncology ward and outpatient staff.

Main duties of the job
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you will have varied post-graduate experience, covering a range of specialties. You should also have a keen interest in caring for patients with cancer and, ideally, have some specific clinical experience in Oncology. We will support you with any training needs. Advanced communication skills and strong MDT working experience are essential.
You need to be registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council and ideally have current NHS experience.

Main duties of the job
Working within a team of Oncology Dietitians and Dietetic support staff, you will provide a dietetic service to oncology inpatients at Musgrove Park Hospital. You will also deliver dietetic outpatient services within this specialist area.

You will work as part of the Oncology Dietetic Team (based across Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital), and will become a part of a friendly, welcoming, growing team of Dietitians, Dietetic Apprentices, Dietetic Assistants, Nutrition Nurses and Administrative staff at Yeovil District Hospital, the acute site at Musgrove Park Hospital as well as our Community team.
We take Student Dietitians from Plymouth University for A, B and C placements, as well as supporting our dietetic apprentice placements, and actively encourage training and CPD. As a service we provide Bank Holiday cover to inpatients and work flexibly to provide clinical cover to specialist areas.
