Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a General Practitioner to join the Breast Care Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. Main duties of the job

Provide clinical support within the breast care team, particularly in one-stop clinics for symptomatic patients referred under the suspected breast cancer pathway.

Conduct triple assessments in collaboration with breast surgeons, radiologists, and nurse practitioners.

Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to discuss cancer cases and contribute to care planning.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and correspondence.

Engage in clinical governance activities, including audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of junior staff and medical students where appropriate.

Undertake continuing professional development (CPD) and complete annual appraisals and mandatory training.

Ensure compliance with GMC registration and professional standards.

Support service development and innovation within the breast care unit.

Liaise effectively with primary care and other specialties to ensure seamless patient care.
