Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to work within a friendly team responsible for the organisation and management of the surgical waiting lists.
You will be part of a front office call handling team to manage and respond to inbound calls relating to the scheduling/rescheduling of admission dates where required to support theatre utilisation.
You will support with making Ophthalmic pre-operative assessment appointments when required, along with any other office tasks such as collecting and delivery post, managing stationery and general day to day support.
You will be required to work with the Waiting List Co-Ordinators to compile the Harm Safety Netting Letters and clinical reviews for patient communication.
Main duties of the job
Deal with queries from consultants and other Trust staff.
Have an excellent telephone manner, this is imperative to ensure that clear and concise information is exchanged between patients and staff.
Following guidance schedule patients into theatre sessions and when necessary, rearrange theatre lists when having to rebook cancelled patients.
Send out correspondence with information to patients.
Telephone patients to cancel their admission date for numerous reasons, cancer case took priority, no ITU/HDU beds, no beds, Clinicians sick.
Take incoming telephone calls from other departments/patients, relating to specific duties
Responsible for taking the daily post to the Post Department and general office duties, such as photocopying.
To cover other clerical staff in department during periods of annual leave/sickness. Flexible approach to working required.
