Community Mental Health Nurse

The closing date is 20 August 2025

Job summary

Do you have experience working in mental health support services?

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges?

If you answered yes to the above, we'd love to hear from you!

We are currently transforming Mental Health Services in Somerset and have an exciting opportunity for you to be part of our expanding Community Mental Health Service. We are seeking a Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Wells.

This is a fantastic time to join a thriving and innovative Mental Health Trust that has received significant investment into mental health services across Somerset. As a trailblazer site for the Community Mental Health Framework, we are committed to providing outstanding care by ensuring people receive the right help, at the right time, in the right place -- operating with a 'no wrong door' ethos.

Our dynamic approach has recently been recognised with the Collaborating for Improvement -- National Improvement Award from the NHS Big Conversation for Improvement, and we are proud to have been named Mental Health Trust of the Year.

Main duties of the job

You will deliver a high-quality, comprehensive mental health service for individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties within the Community Mental Health Service. This role focuses on supporting people with a complex range of needs and challenges. You will be expected to administer depot injections and run clinics, including clozapine clinics.

As a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, you will carry out assessments using a collaborative, recovery-focused approach and will be skilled in positive risk management. You will also contribute to and participate in team and service development, as well as ongoing service evaluation. Liaison with a wide range of agencies is a central aspect of the role.

You must hold a full driving licence and have permanent access to your own transport.

You will be working within a Community Mental Health Service that has redefined traditional boundaries between primary and secondary care, in partnership with service users, the voluntary sector, and community enterprises.
