Job summary

Are you an organised, approachable, and proactive individual seeking a rewarding opportunity in healthcare administration? We are looking for an Outpatient Booking Officer to join our friendly and supportive Ophthalmology Outpatient Team, working across both Yeovil District Hospital and the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Centre in the Quedam Centre in Yeovil. This role is central to fostering a well coordinated and friendly environment, providing outstanding administrative support and ensuring a positive experience for both patients and staff, whether in person or behind the scenes.

Main duties of the job

Managing bookings, rescheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records using IT systems such as TrakCare.

Undertaking Ophthalmology outpatient reception duties at both Yeovil District Hospital and the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Centre

Handling referrals and coordinating appointments via telephone, email, and other platforms.

Supporting clinic efficiency by optimising appointment slots and assisting with administrative tasks.

Acting as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service
