Job summary

Are you a proactive, analytical thinker who is looking for a new role that can offer you variety? We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst/Business Intelligence Analyst to join our collaborative, multi-trust West of England and Peninsula Imaging Networks.

This pivotal role will provide business intelligence expertise to support improvements in clinical care, productivity, and efficiency across regional diagnostic services.

This is a unique opportunity to support innovation and improvement in diagnostic imaging services through high-quality business intelligence. Working across the West of England and Peninsula Imaging Networks, you'll help deliver strategic and operational insights that improve patient care, service performance, and efficiency.

This role offers remote working with occasional travel for meetings and collaborative working across the Southwest region.

Main duties of the job

*Lead the development and delivery of high-quality BI reporting across complex imaging service data.

*Provide advanced analysis and insights to support decision-making across NHS organisations.

*Collaborate with senior stakeholders, digital programme managers and clinicians.

*Work with tools like SQL, Power BI, Excel (incl. VBA), SSIS, and RIS/PACS systems.

*Produce performance packs, dashboards, and bespoke analytics to track impact and drive improvements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, multi-trust team driving improvements in diagnostic imaging across the Southwest. As part of a regionally significant transformation programme, you will play a key role in shaping data-driven service development that directly benefits patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level in relevant management / data analytics or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued personal development.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Health Informatics -- including healthcare datasets (particularly secondary care), data quality, national strategic control mechanisms for data management, definitional guidance and data protection.
  • Knowledge of setting up business intelligence processes for new projects.
  • Be expertly knowledgeable of relevant NHS data definitions and reporting requirements and be able to interpret this

Desirable

  • Masters or above in relevant fields eg informatics, analysis, statistics or operational research.
  • Training in management / business intelligence or willingness to undertake training in first year following appointment.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within or with Radiology Information Systems,
  • Experience of attending meetings where complex questions need to be captured to inform the production of reports with clearly analysed data.

Desirable

  • Experience managing complex projects
