Job summary
The Hotel Services Supervisor is a pivotal role. The purpose of which is to oversee our small team of Ward Assistants that ensure the care environment is kept clean and in a good state of repair, and our Chefs to ensure a quality, well presented diet for our patients and service users.
To also work with our ward based team to ensure the nutritional needs of our patients are met to optimise their recovery.
To work with the Ward Manager to ensure that the Hotel Services Team are supported and kept up to date with training and development.
To oversee and develop highest quality service that supports the development of new business.
Main duties of the job
Promote a team ethos of providing the highest quality of customer service.
The postholder is required to have excellent interpersonal skill with senior members of staff, patients and members of the public.
Build good working relationship with hotel services team and the ward staff.
Assist the ward manager/nurse in charge in all aspects of hotel services and customer care.
To communicate effectively across a wide range of patients receiving both NHS and private care, including patients attending private patient clinics and research Clinics.
Ability to be calm and sensitive to the needs of patients and relatives and colleagues.
Ability to solve problems.
Must be practical and able to prioritise workload.
Awareness of customer care and quality related issues working in an area that provides care and services for both NHS and private healthcare patients.
Proactive in utilising different styles and methods of communication to respond to differing needs.
Communicate any health and safety issues within the ward environment to the nurse in charge.
Report faults to estates.
Prompt response to, and prioritisation of, email communication.
Ensure deadlines set by the ward manager are met.
Report equipment problems, including, IT to the relevant departments as instructed.
Assist to train other staff within your team. Support temporary staff, ensuring they are oriented to the ward at the start of the shift.
Ability to accommodate change in a rapidly changing environment.
