Band 5 Dietitian

The closing date is 04 August 2025

Job summary

Are you recently qualified as a Dietitian or due to qualify, or are you wishing to consolidate your experience before moving onto a more specialised role?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our team based at Yeovil District Hospital.

You will be joining the Dietetic Team to deliver a dietetic service to a range of adult wards in the acute hospital setting which may include stroke, medicine, surgery, gastroenterology and oncology. In addition, you will run a general outpatient clinic. As we are an integrated service, there are opportunities to work across both acute and community settings.

What can we offer you?

  • The opportunity to work in a supportive environment to build on your training and gain further experience.
  • Opportunities to develop core clinical skills to achieve a broad base for ongoing dietetic practice.
  • Supported learning opportunities in specialty areas through training and supervised practice with our specialist Dietitians.
  • Supportive preceptorship programme for all newly qualified staff.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills. You will need to be HCPC registered as a Dietitian or applying for HCPC registration.

If you are a final year Student Dietitian, we would also welcome your application. Tailored employment options are available that will allow you to commence in post as a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner until you receive your HCPC registration.

We are a very friendly, hardworking and supportive team and would love to welcome you to join us!

Across the wider Dietetic Department, opportunities are also available to gain experience with Specialist Dietitians in areas such as Parenteral Nutrition, Critical Care, Diabetes, Paediatrics, Home Enteral Tube Feeding, Weight Management and Bariatrics.

You will have access to regular supervision and have opportunities to undertake continuing professional development through work shadowing, competency frameworks and courses as identified by your training needs and objectives.
