An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team at Musgrove Park Hospital. This is a rotational post. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated and with good communication and interpersonal skills. We provide high quality support to our patients. This is a full-time post, but we are happy to consider part time hours minimum 22.5hrs, as we are committed to enabling good work/life balance for our team.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join our friendly team of assistants, technicians and pharmacists. The post holder will work flexibly to deliver a Pharmacy Service rotating between Dispensary, Aseptic services, Stores, and Ward Distribution
Dispensary - dispensing medication for inpatients and outpatients from the pharmacy robot.
Medicines Optimisation - support team on the ward, checking named patient medications and dispensing from the trolley or ordering from the dispensary under the supervision of a pharmacist or technician on a designated ward.
Aseptic services - working in our newly refurbished aseptic suite at the Beacon Production Unit supporting the team with preparing chemotherapy treatments, this is a Pharmacy run production unit with specialist equipment to help prepare individual patient treatments.
Ward Distribution - carry out a medicines top-up service on wards and will assist with other medicines related duties i.e. medicines expiry checks, stock checks and returning medicines.
Stores - Receiving deliveries of pharmaceutical goods to support the store person.
