SCR Assistant Application Developer

Job summary

The Assistant Application Developer role acts as a liaison between Application Development and Customer Support teams for various support related technical tasks such as dealing with complex customer support calls, deployments and migrations.

The post holder will also be responsible for less complex development within the main development sprint lifecycle and will work with other teams through the analysis, specification and design phases of changes or new functionality whilst also creating technical documentation where required.

The post holder will be required to work remotely out of hours to deal with system upgrades on a regular basis.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be undertaking the following roles & responsibilities:

  • Performing third line support activities working with support staff to resolve client issues.
  • Implementation of the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) product, releases and fixes to external customer sites.
  • Managing Customers moving from premise to Azure cloud environment.
  • Working with other developers and test teams to ensure efficient build and pipeline releases.
  • Performing system testing when required by the testing team in preparation for releases.
  • Carrying out bug fixes, system maintenance and server migrations
