Job summary

The role will be required to provide general clerical and administrative support to the Administration Lead and Integrated discharge team.

This will involve efficient and effective administrative/duties to Musgrove Park Hospital in supporting the discharge process.The post requires flexibility and the ability to provide a wide range of key skills and duties as the services develop.

Main duties of the job

The role is to provide a consistently high level of customer service over the telephone whilst maintaining confidentiality, along with an efficient and complete administrative support service to the Administration Lead and Integrated Discharge Team.You will provide administration and clerical duties as a member of an integrated multi-disciplinary team who provide care to patients.You will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to either the discharge hub and to have liaison with the discharge lounge dependent for specific discharge team patient scenarios. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway receiving referrals to support discharge processes whilst being managed in a timely manner.The work is fast-paced and can be complex, but you will have the opportunity to support our patients and make sure they receive the best possible care. To do this you will need to be able to work in a calm, logical way and be able to multi-task as each day can be different and challenging.To work as part of the clerical team but also be able to occasionally work on own initiative when colleagues are absent.Use the hospital administration system (Whiteboards, Maxims, Optica, Power BI and RIO) for all patient related data, including case note tracking.To have an awareness of the Criteria to Reside policy and the impact of this with discharge planning and patient flow.

Essential

  • English and Maths GCSE (A*-C grade) or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced level of skill across Microsoft Office Suite of software (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desirable

  • Current Knowledge of the Intermediate Care and Discharge Pathways

Experience
