Job summary
Yeovil Hospital and its Emergency Department aim to deliver excellent standards of care in an appropriate and timely manner to all patients that require medical or social care. All patients will be treated with respect, equally and in a manner befitting of the Trust Standards. Adhering to these Standards enable the Emergency Department to maintain a meaningful level of expert care.
Progress chasers are key to the flow within the Emergency department, tracking patient journey and helping them move through the department by chasing ay delays that occur. The role work very closely with the nursing and clinical team.
Main duties of the job
*During working hours to be Central point of contact for the co-ordination of patient flow through their Unscheduled Care Visit
*To provide practical and administrative support to ED, monitoring visit times, and proactively chasing tests and results
*To alert Patient Flow Team/Matron to anticipated difficulties in terms of admissions/discharges and any likely obstruction to meet the ED 4-hour visit or Ambulance Service 30 minute handover targets
*To follow the internal professional standards for Emergency Medicine
