Job summary
Therapeutic Radiographers play an essential part in providing excellence in radiotherapy treatments for the people of Somerset. Our goal is to provide exceptional care alongside accurate and compassionate radiotherapy treatments whilst maintaining a culture of safety, continuous learning and collaboration in our multi disciplinary teams.
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Therapeutic Radiographer to join our Radiotherapy Department. You'll play a crucial role in planning and delivering precise radiation treatment to patients with cancer, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. You will work closely with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised treatment plans, helping to improve patient outcomes.
Main duties of the job
You will :
- be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of treatment units to which the radiographer is assigned; to ensure and maintain standards in the treatment of patients with a cancer diagnosis
- be part of a team in the treatment process ensuring the highest professional and technical standards are set and maintained .
- provide a patient focused service working across professional boundaries
- undertake radiotherapeutic procedures efficiently and to treat patients with ionising radiation in accordance with prescribed protocols, radiation control measures and medico-legal requirements
- be involved in the continuous development of Radiotherapy Services
This is a rotational post and will also involve working in pre-treatment, superficial X-ray and the radiotherapy review service.
